ChatAds is a product extraction and resolution engine. Once a product is extracted from an AI response, it needs to resolve against an offer catalog — the pool of products, links, and metadata that actually get returned. Amazon is the default catalog: it’s the largest consumer catalog on the internet, and most teams start here because there’s nothing to integrate on the supply side.
Amazon is one of several catalogs you can connect to ChatAds. Teams can also plug in their own product feed or direct brand inventory — contact us to set up a custom catalog.

How the Amazon Catalog Works

When the Amazon catalog is selected, ChatAds matches the extracted product to an Amazon listing and generates a link using your Associate ID. The affiliate relationship is entirely yours:
  • You earn the commissions — ChatAds doesn’t take a cut of affiliate revenue
  • You own the reporting — track clicks, conversions, and earnings in your Amazon Associates dashboard
  • You manage compliance — follow Amazon’s Operating Agreement as you would with any affiliate integration

Step 1: Sign Up for Amazon Associates

If you don’t already have an Amazon Associates account:
  1. Go to affiliate-program.amazon.com
  2. Click Sign Up
  3. Log in with your existing Amazon account (or create one)
  4. Fill in your account information, website details, and preferred payment method
  5. Amazon will provide your Associate ID (also called a tracking ID)
The sign-up process takes about 5 minutes. Amazon approves most applications immediately, though they review your first qualifying purchases within 180 days.
Already have an Amazon Associates account? Skip to Step 2 — you can use your existing Associate ID.

Step 2: Find Your Associate ID

Your Associate ID (tracking ID) looks like this: 
yoursite-20
It’s typically your site name followed by -20. You can find it in your Amazon Associates dashboard in the top-right corner or under Account Settings > Manage Your Tracking IDs.

Step 3: Add Your Associate ID to ChatAds

  1. Log into app.getchatads.com
  2. Go to Offer Catalog
  3. Enter your Associate ID in the Amazon Affiliate Tag field
  4. Click Save
That’s it. When the Amazon catalog is active, ChatAds will tag generated links with your Associate ID.

Earnings & Reporting

Since you keep 100% of affiliate commissions, all earnings reporting happens in Amazon’s systems: Amazon pays commissions monthly, approximately 60 days after the end of the month in which the sale occurred. Commission rates vary by product category — see Amazon’s commission income statement for current rates.
ChatAds is infrastructure. We extract products and resolve them against the connected catalog — we don’t process or track Amazon commissions. For questions about earnings, payouts, or commission rates, refer to Amazon Associates Help.

Using a Different Catalog

If you have your own product feed, brand inventory, or a private affiliate network you’d rather resolve against, ChatAds can wire that in as a custom catalog. Contact us to discuss a setup.
