Control which traffic receives affiliate links. Learn how to set up geo-targeting, handle international users, and block specific keywords or product categories.
Pass the country parameter with an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code:

ChatAds uses this for:
  • Localized affiliate links (amazon.com vs amazon.de)
  • Country-specific product availability
  • Geo-restriction enforcement (if configured)
You can also pass ip for automatic geo-detection.Recommendation: ChatAds currently only matches US, English traffic. Passing ip or country lets you filter non-qualifying traffic before making API calls, saving your request quota and avoiding partner API throttling. If you already know the user’s country, pass country directly; otherwise pass ip for auto-detection.
The API returns successfully but with status: "no_offers_found" and an empty offers array:

Check data.status and data.returned to see if any offers matched. When no offers are returned, status will be "no_offers_found".While these requests succeed (no error), they won’t return affiliate links and still count toward your rate limit. Recommendation: Filter non-qualifying traffic client-side before calling the API to maximize your quota efficiency.
Yes! Configure keyword rules in the dashboard:
  1. Go to getchatads.com/settings/rules
  2. Add blocked keywords
  3. Optionally set a custom rejection message
Blocked requests return CONTENT_BLOCKED (422) and don’t count against your quota.
Skip Keywords are stripped from the message before analysis. The request continues, but these words won’t influence ad matching. Use this for words that shouldn’t affect targeting but aren’t problematic.Hard Stop Keywords block the entire request if detected (returns early without analysis). Use this for content that should never receive affiliate links. Blocked requests don’t count toward your quota.Both have limits: max 20 keywords per list, max 25 characters per keyword, alphanumeric only.
Currently, ChatAds only supports US affiliate partners (Amazon.com Associates). International expansion is on our roadmap, with UK and EU markets planned for future releases.If you have specific country requirements, contact chris@getchatads.com to discuss timeline and priorities.
Go to Rules in the dashboard to configure category preferences:
  • Positive categories - Select categories that match your content. This helps train the system and improves affiliate matching accuracy.
  • Negative categories - Select categories you want to avoid. These are less likely to appear in results (not guaranteed, but significantly reduced).
Use both together for best results—positive categories tell the system what you want, negative categories tell it what to avoid.
